The file text is passed through JSON.parse and JSON.stringify(value, null, 2) to make nested objects and arrays readable.
How it works
File.text() feeds the JavaScript JSON parser; only successfully parsed values are serialized as pretty JSON.

A minified {"a":1} file is displayed as indented multi-line JSON.

- Read the structure of a minified JSON file locally
Before you use it
- Comments, trailing commas, and JSON5 are not accepted, and large JSON requires memory for complete parse/stringify operations.
Frequently asked questions
Will it partially show invalid JSON?
No. If JSON.parse fails, no valid formatted result is produced.
