Base64 to File
Decode raw Base64 or a base64 Data URI into a downloadable Blob.
How to use
- Paste Base64/Data URI, set filename and MIME when needed, then Decode and download the Blob.
Capabilities and scope
A full Data URI supplies its MIME type; raw Base64 uses the filename and MIME you enter. Whitespace inside the payload is removed.
How it works
The data:...;base64, prefix is separated, Base64 syntax is checked, atob bytes are copied to Uint8Array, and a Blob is created.
Example
data:text/plain;base64,SGVsbG8= can be restored as a text/plain Blob.
Useful for
- Turn a received Base64 payload back into a file for inspection or saving
Before you use it
- URL-safe -/_ characters are not normalized automatically, and raw Base64 contains no original filename or MIME metadata.
Frequently asked questions
Will it use the MIME from a Data URI?
Yes. When present, that MIME type is assigned to the resulting Blob.
