Image Data URL Generator
Redraw an image on canvas and convert it to a PNG Data URL string.
How to use
- Choose an image, run the tool, and copy the resulting data:image/png;base64,... string.
Capabilities and scope
The current implementation does not Base64-encode the original file bytes; it rasterizes via createImageBitmap and returns canvas.toDataURL(image/png).
How it works
The bitmap is drawn to a same-size canvas and toDataURL is called with PNG MIME.
Example
Even with JPEG input, the result begins data:image/png;base64,... and contains re-encoded PNG pixel data.
Useful for
- Create a small inline PNG Data URL for HTML/CSS testing
Before you use it
- Data URLs can be much longer than source files, do not preserve source MIME/metadata/animation, and are inefficient for large inline assets.
Frequently asked questions
Does JPEG input produce a JPEG Data URL?
No. The current runner serializes the canvas as PNG, so the result is a PNG Data URL.
