How it works
createImageBitmap is drawn at original dimensions and canvas.toBlob is called with the selected MIME.
Example
Converting a PNG photo to JPEG quality 90 creates a JPEG Blob at the same width×height.

Before you use it
- Support depends on the browser canvas encoder; JPEG loses transparency, and EXIF, ICC, animation, and other source metadata/structure are not preserved.
Frequently asked questions
Will converting a GIF to WebP preserve animation?
No. This canvas path re-encodes one decoded bitmap rather than converting all animated GIF frames.
