Image Resizer
Redraw an image to a chosen pixel width and height on canvas and export a new file.
How to use
- Choose an image, enter width and height, optionally keep aspect ratio locked, then Apply.
Capabilities and scope
The dedicated image workbench can lock the original aspect ratio and recalculate the other side. JPEG, WebP, and PNG keep that MIME; other decoded inputs fall back to PNG.
How it works
createImageBitmap is drawn into a target-size canvas and canvas.toBlob encodes the output.
Example
With aspect lock, changing a 1600×900 PNG to width 800 sets height to 450 and exports an 800×450 PNG.
Useful for
- Reduce pixel dimensions for web publishing or fit a required image size
Before you use it
- Resampling quality depends on browser canvas; EXIF, ICC, other metadata, and animated-GIF animation may not be preserved.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if aspect lock is off?
Width and height are independent, so a different ratio can stretch or squash the image.
