Touchscreen Tester
Use Pointer Events to display active contact position/pressure plus maximum simultaneous contacts and event count.
How to use
- On a touch-capable device, press and move one or several fingers in the area to inspect simultaneous recognition.
Capabilities and scope
pointerdown captures each pointer, tracks points by pointerId, and updates position and pressure while moving.
How it works
Points are added/updated by pointerId and removed on pointerup/cancel; maxTouches preserves the highest active count observed.
Example
Two simultaneous pointerdowns can show Active touches 2 and Max simultaneous 2.
Useful for
- Check whether multi-touch input reaches the browser through Pointer Events
Before you use it
- This is not a manufacturer hardware-diagnostic tool for precision or ghost touches; it shows only pressure values exposed by the browser/OS.
Frequently asked questions
Does max simultaneous return to zero when I lift my fingers?
No. Active touches decreases, while the observed maximum remains until Reset.
