Gamepad Tester
Read the first connected pad's ID, mapping, buttons, and axes through Gamepad API, with haptics testing when exposed.
How to use
- Connect a gamepad, press a button so the browser activates it, then move buttons and sticks to inspect values.
Capabilities and scope
The release runner polls navigator.getGamepads() every animation frame and displays pressed/touched/value states plus axes.
How it works
Button value>0.1 or axis magnitude>0.1 counts as activity; when vibrationActuator.playEffect exists, a 300 ms dual-rumble test is available.
Example
Moving an analog stick changes the corresponding Axis value within roughly -1 to 1.
Useful for
- Check basic pad input and whether browser haptics are exposed
Before you use it
- Mappings and support vary by browser/OS/device, only the first detected pad is shown, and vendor-specific features are not decoded.
Frequently asked questions
Is gamepad vibration always available?
No. The haptics button appears only when vibrationActuator.playEffect is exposed.
