Speaker Tester
Play a 20–20000 Hz Web Audio test tone with adjustable volume, duration, and stereo pan.
How to use
- Set frequency, volume, duration, and pan, then play to check speaker output and left/right behavior.
Capabilities and scope
The enhanced tester builds Oscillator→Gain→StereoPanner→destination, clamping duration to 0.1–10 s, volume to 0–100%, and pan to -1–1.
How it works
AudioContext oscillator frequency, gain, and StereoPanner pan are clamped before the oscillator is stopped after the chosen duration and the context is closed.
Example
440 Hz at 20% volume for 1 second with pan 0 plays a roughly centered one-second tone.
Useful for
- Check basic audio output and left/right speaker channels
Before you use it
- This is not a hearing test or frequency-response measurement; high volume/frequency can be uncomfortable, so start quietly.
Frequently asked questions
Can it play only toward the left or right?
Pan can be moved toward -1 or 1 for a stereo test, though actual routing depends on the OS and audio device.
