Text Statistics
Summarize characters, UTF-8 bytes, words, unique words, sentences, lines, and estimated reading minutes in one table.
How to use
- Enter the text and run the statistics analysis.
Capabilities and scope
It combines code-point character count, TextEncoder byte length, the shared word tokenizer, and a fixed 225-WPM rounded-up reading estimate.
How it works
It computes [...input].length, UTF-8 byte count, lowercase-token Set size, and readingMinutes=max(1,ceil(words/225)) among the rows.
Example
A 225-word text reports one reading minute together with the other length statistics.
Useful for
- Get several document-size metrics in one quick pass
Before you use it
- Reading time is a fixed 225-WPM simplification and word/sentence tokenization is not a full linguistic analysis.
Frequently asked questions
Does empty text show zero reading minutes?
No. The current implementation uses Math.max(1, ...), so Reading minutes has a minimum of one.
