ASCII Codes to Text
Convert valid Unicode code-point integers separated by spaces or commas into characters.
How to use
- Enter decimal code points separated by whitespace or commas, then run the conversion.
Capabilities and scope
Despite the ASCII label, the strict runner accepts Unicode code points from 0 through 1114111 and rejects the surrogate range.
How it works
Input is split with /[\s,]+/; each value must be an integer satisfying 0≤n≤0x10FFFF and n outside 0xD800–0xDFFF, then String.fromCodePoint joins the characters.
Example
72 101 108 108 111 becomes Hello, and 128512 becomes 😀.
Useful for
- Restore text from a list of decimal Unicode code points
Before you use it
- Hex notation such as U+1F600 or 0x1F600 is not parsed directly; input must be decimal integers, and surrogate code points are rejected as invalid.
Frequently asked questions
Can I separate values with commas?
Yes. Whitespace and commas are both accepted, so 65,66,67 and 65 66 67 both produce ABC.
