Binary Text Converter
Encode text as UTF-8 bytes and display each byte as an eight-bit binary group.
How to use
- Enter text and run to inspect its binary byte representation.
Capabilities and scope
The tool shows TextEncoder output bytes, not one binary number per Unicode code point.
How it works
Each byte from new TextEncoder().encode(input) is converted to base 2 and padded to eight digits.
Example
A becomes 01000001, while a non-ASCII character yields multiple eight-bit groups.
Useful for
- Inspect the UTF-8 wire or storage bytes of text
Before you use it
- The current tool is one-way and does not decode a binary byte string back to text.
Frequently asked questions
Is every character exactly one eight-bit group?
No. ASCII uses one UTF-8 byte, while non-ASCII characters can use multiple bytes.
