Text Difference Checker
Compare two texts with a line-based LCS diff that aligns added, removed, and unchanged lines.
How to use
- Enter original and changed text, choose comparison and view options, then compare.
Capabilities and scope
The dedicated runner supports ignore-whitespace and ignore-case options plus split or unified views, with a 1,500-line limit per side.
How it works
It builds a longest-common-subsequence dynamic-programming table over normalized lines and reconstructs add/remove/same operations.
Example
Comparing alpha, beta, gamma with alpha, inserted, beta aligns inserted as an addition and gamma as a removal.
Useful for
- Inspect line changes in configs, documents, or small code snippets
Before you use it
- Each side is limited to 1,500 lines and the tool does not produce character-level inline differences.
Frequently asked questions
Does it only compare equal line numbers?
No. Ordered common lines are used to align insertions and deletions.
