Speaking Time Calculator
Estimate speaking duration from script word count and a configurable WPM rate.
How to use
- Paste the speaking script, set a realistic speaking WPM, and run the estimate.
Capabilities and scope
The default is 130 WPM, adjustable from 20 to 1000, and the result reports both word count and applied speed.
How it works
Locale-aware word count is divided by WPM, converted to rounded seconds, and formatted as minutes and seconds.
Example
260 words at 130 WPM is about two minutes.
Useful for
- Plan presentations, narration, or meeting remarks
Before you use it
- Pauses, emphasis, questions, and language-specific delivery rhythm are not modeled, so rehearsal time can differ.
Frequently asked questions
Are pauses included?
No. Only word count and average WPM are used; add expected pause time separately.
