Slug Generator
Create a slug by NFKD-normalizing and lowercasing text, then replacing non-letter-or-digit runs with hyphens.
How to use
- Enter the title or phrase and run the slug generation.
Capabilities and scope
Leading and trailing hyphens are removed and Unicode letters or digits are allowed rather than forcing ASCII-only transliteration.
How it works
The sequence is normalize('NFKD'), lowercase, trim, replace /[^\p{L}\p{N}]+/gu with '-', then remove edge hyphens.
Example
Hello, World! becomes hello-world.
Useful for
- Draft readable URL-path or document-ID slugs
Before you use it
- Combining marks introduced by NFKD can become separators, and reserved paths or duplicate-slug collisions are not checked.
Frequently asked questions
