Scientific Calculator
Evaluate mathjs expressions in DEG or RAD mode and keep up to 20 recent results.
How to use
- Choose DEG or RAD, build or type an expression, then press = or Enter.
Capabilities and scope
The dedicated calculator supports trigonometric/inverse functions, sqrt, base-10 log, natural log ln, pi, e, powers, and normal arithmetic in expressions.
How it works
mathjs evaluate receives scoped trig and log functions; DEG converts trig inputs to radians and inverse-trig outputs back to degrees.
Example
In DEG mode, sin(30)^2 + cos(30)^2 evaluates to 1 within floating-point precision.
Useful for
- Check expressions that need trig, logarithms, or powers beyond a basic calculator
Before you use it
- It is not a symbolic proof system; results follow floating-point math and mathjs syntax, and invalid domains or expressions produce errors.
Frequently asked questions
Are log and ln the same?
No. log is base 10 and ln is the natural logarithm.
