NATO Phonetic Alphabet
Convert Latin letters a–z to NATO phonetic-alphabet words while leaving other characters unchanged.
How to use
- Enter the letters or mixed string and run.
Capabilities and scope
A fixed Alfa, Bravo, Charlie dictionary is used after lowercasing the input, and mapped pieces are joined with spaces.
How it works
Each lowercase character is replaced when a NATO dictionary entry exists; otherwise the original character is emitted.
Example
ABC becomes Alfa Bravo Charlie.
Useful for
- Prepare a spelling reference for phone or radio communication
Before you use it
- NATO number pronunciation words are not implemented; digits and symbols pass through literally.
