Find and Replace
Replace every exact literal occurrence of a search string with a replacement string.
How to use
- Enter the source text and provide the find and replacement values separated by the arrow, then run.
Capabilities and scope
This is literal rather than regex replacement, and the extra field is parsed as find→replacement.
How it works
The extra value is split at the first arrow into find and replacement, then input.split(find).join(replacement) performs global literal replacement.
Example
Source foo foo with foo→bar becomes bar bar.
Useful for
- Replace a fixed string everywhere in plain text
Before you use it
- An arrow inside the intended find text can change parsing, and there is no case-insensitive option.
Frequently asked questions
Can I enter a regular expression?
No. This tool performs literal replacement; use the regex replacement tool for patterns.
