ULID Generator
Generate a 26-character ULID-shaped identifier from the current implementation's time prefix and random suffix.
How to use
- Press Generate to create an identifier based on the current time.
Capabilities and scope
Date.now() is rendered as a ten-character base-32-style prefix and combined with sixteen hexadecimal random characters from Web Crypto.
How it works
The implementation concatenates timestamp.toString(32).toUpperCase().padStart(10,'0') with 16 random hex characters.
Example
Values generated around the same time still differ because of the random suffix.
Useful for
- Create internal test identifiers with a time-derived prefix
Before you use it
- This is not a full Crockford Base32 ULID implementation, so do not assume interoperability with standards-compliant ULID libraries.
Frequently asked questions
Is it fully standard-ULID compatible?
No. It is a 26-character time-plus-random identifier shaped like a ULID but encoded differently.
