Typing Speed Test
Time a fixed localized sentence and calculate WPM, character accuracy, and elapsed time.
How to use
- Press Start test, type the displayed sentence to the end as accurately as possible, then review WPM and accuracy.
Capabilities and scope
After Start, input is capped to the sample length and each typed character is compared at the same position; completing the sentence finishes the test automatically.
How it works
WPM is round(correct characters÷5÷elapsed minutes); accuracy is correct÷typed×100, with a 250 ms minimum elapsed value to avoid extreme initial rates.
Example
If 45 of 50 typed positions match, the accuracy calculation uses 45 correct characters.

Before you use it
- One sentence does not represent long-form performance, and IME composition, keyboard hardware, browser timing, and familiarity can affect results.

Does WPM count actual words?
No. This runner uses the standard-like conversion of five correct characters per word.
