Enough bytes are rounded up to supply the requested number of hex characters, then the string is sliced to exact character length.
How it works
crypto.getRandomValues bytes are serialized as lowercase hex and truncated to Math.max(16,length) characters.
Example
Length 32 returns 32 characters from 0-9a-f.
Useful for
- Create test bearer-like random tokens or nonce material
Before you use it
- Hex uses four bits per displayed character, so entropy density differs from byte-length or Base64 token specifications.
