Passphrase Generator
Generate a hyphen-separated passphrase from the built-in pool of 25 English words.
How to use
- Enter the desired number of words and generate.
Capabilities and scope
Word count is clamped to at least three and each position independently uses Web Crypto-backed selection, so repetition is possible.
How it works
Words such as amber, birch, and cobalt are selected with randomUint and joined by hyphens.
Example
Five words can produce a form such as amber-river-nova-forest-pearl.
Useful for
- Create memorable-looking test strings that are not high-value secrets
Before you use it
- The 25-word pool is far too small for strong passphrase entropy; real authentication secrets need a larger vetted word list.
Frequently asked questions
Is this equivalent to Diceware for security?
No. Its fixed 25-word pool provides much less entropy.
