Business Days Calculator
Count weekdays between two dates by excluding Saturdays and Sundays.
How to use
- Choose start and end dates.
- Run the calculation.
- Compare the weekday count with the total calendar-day gap.
Capabilities and scope
This is a simple Monday-through-Friday working-day estimate. It deliberately does not depend on a country-specific public-holiday calendar.
How it works
The algorithm walks one calendar day at a time from the start toward the end and counts dates whose weekday is neither Saturday (6) nor Sunday (0). The start date is excluded; dates are tested after each step.
Example
From Friday to the following Monday, Saturday and Sunday are skipped and Monday contributes one weekday.
Useful for
- Estimate a work period without weekends
- Check approximate weekday turnaround time
- Compare calendar days with weekdays
Before you use it
- Public holidays, company closures, and regions with different weekend conventions are not included.
- Use the responsible institution's calendar for banking or statutory deadlines.
Frequently asked questions
Are public holidays removed?
No. Only Saturday and Sunday are excluded.
Is the start date included?
No. The current algorithm starts counting after moving away from the start date.
