Temperature Converter
Convert Celsius, Fahrenheit, and kelvin with both scale factors and zero-point offsets.
How to use
- Enter the temperature and select the source and target scales among °C, °F, and K.
Capabilities and scope
Temperature scales are not simple proportional units, so °C↔°F↔K conversion must account for different zero points.
How it works
The implementation first normalizes the input to Celsius. Fahrenheit uses `(F-32)×5/9` and kelvin maps through `K-273.15`, then the target scale is applied.
Example
0 °C equals 32 °F and 273.15 K.
Useful for
- Compare weather temperatures in °C and °F
- Convert K and °C for scientific work
- Read specifications written in another temperature scale
Before you use it
- The input layer does not separately reject physically impossible temperatures below 0 K, so physical validity remains the user's responsibility.

Frequently asked questions
Why isn't temperature converted with multiplication alone?
The scales differ in zero point as well as interval size, so an offset is required.
